Stealing Pictures

This is Stan. I just stole this picture from my sisters website. I hope she doesn't mind, but she still hasn't given us a copy!!! So I consider it to be something along the lines of . . . taking what is our anyway! Isn't my sister a great photographer. You can check out her amazing work at photographybyjo.com! (There now I gave her a plug too and so it is now free adverstising). Anyway, this is a picture from when I asked Samira to marry me! It was great fun. I stole her from work on our year and a half anniversary. She was surprised when I kept driving farther and farther away from work. She was afraid she wouldn't get back in time. Little did she know, she wasn't going back! We changed at a gas station on the way out of town and I took her up to the mountains to a lookout tower we liked to visit. I asked her on top of the tower. Then we came down and my sister and her sister had set up a wonderful lunch for us to eat. They were life savers and even found this beautiful lake to eat by. The place I had originally planned on got rained out. The man that lived across the street was a DJ and serenaded us by pulling out his speakers and turning them on loud enough to hear. Word even got around in the small town and the local newspaper came out to take our picture. Needless to say I swept Samira off her feet and somehow convinced her to marry me!

Stan just found the link to a newspaper article the Payson Roundup wrote about the momentous occasion! http://www.paysonroundup.com/section/localnews/story/24715

Exciting Changes

Ok Rushelle... I don't want to hear you complain for another 2 months. Hehe jk. Well everyone there has been lots of exciting changes in our lives since I last updated this. First off Stanley got accepted in to Medical School at A.T. Still here in Arizona. He will begin the long road of medical school at the end of July! The way that this school works is the first year is here in Mesa and then next 3 years we will be in Portland Oregon!!
Secondly we moved from Tempe to Gilbert. We are now only about 2 miles from Stanley's new school. It will be nice not to have to commute very far. That is a huge change for us because Stan drives all over for work right now and I drive to Phoenix. We are looking forward to being so close to everything.
We are getting very excited for the baby, she will be here in about 6 weeks (June 15th) We are starting to get her room put together, and hopefully it will be ready by the time she gets here.

Disneyland!

So finally at age 22 I got to go to Disneyland!! It was so much fun. Stanley and I got there just after it opened and left just as it was closing. The tickets we had allowed us to hop over to California Adventures too, so we got to see both. Ofcourse we had to take a picture with Winnie the Pooh because that is how we are decorating the baby's room. Because I a 6 1/2 months pregnant I couldn't go on some of the rides at Disneyland, but we got to do tons of stuff anyway. I don't know what my favorite is... We also got to go on one ride at California Adventures, the soaring over California ride. It was so much fun. We actully went on that one twice. It was nice going on a Monday because there we barley any lines the whole day. We had such a wonderful time and it made us excited to take our kids here someday, but we decided we wanted to wait till they were about 8-10yrs old because then they remember it and it is easier to keep track of them We saw plenty of little kids on leashes! Its hilarious! However there was one lady freaking out because she had lost her son. She kept yelling for her son and running around frantic. We felt so bad for her. As we were walking to go get on a ride or see a show there was this little 3yr old or young boy just standing in the middle of the way saying where my mom? I knelt down and asked if his name was Brandon, because that was the name that lady kept saying. He told me no, so I looked around and there was no one around that looked like he belonged with them. So I asked him again his name and all he said was, " Can't find grandma and where is my mom." It broke my heart to see this poor little boy so scared. So I picked him up and we walked back over to where we had seen the lady last. Stan went up to her while I stood back and he asked if her son was wearing Mickey Mouse Ears. She frantically said yes and then looked my way and saw that I was holding her son. She yelled and ran over and grabbed him out of my hands crying. We just walked away, but I know she was so thankful. It made me realize how important it is to watch little kids like that!
